Corporate Entities and Corppass: Simplifying Business and Government Interactions
Corporate entities often need to handle various administrative tasks, such as applying for grants or filing taxes. Aligned with Singapore’s Smart Nation vision, the Government Technology Agency (GovTech) simplifies business and government interactions through the creation of Corppass.
Who Can Use Corppass?
These are the entities that can use the service:
- Goods and Services Tax (GST) registered businesses
- UEN holder companies
- ASGD tax reference holding companies
- Income Tax Reference (ITR) holding companies
GST-registered sole proprietors or companies that are an entity under the GST Group or Divisional Registration must create a separate Corppass account under their GST number to e-file GST returns.
What is Corppass For?
Corppass is Singapore’s official authorisation system for entities. It allows businesses and other entities to manage digital service access for their employees and enables secure transactions with government agencies and participating private sector services.
Managed by GovTech, Corppass provides businesses with better control and convenience by allowing them to assign specific roles to employees to access various government digital services.

Do Foreign Companies Need to Register for Corppass?
Foreign enterprises operating in Singapore, including representative offices and branches, must register for Corppass. If your company needs to make business-to-government transactions in Singapore, you must also get a Corppass account.
Are Singpass and Corppass the Same?
Singpass and Corppass are not the same, though they are related. Singpass is a digital identity system for individuals in Singapore, allowing them to access a wide range of government services online securely. Citizens and residents primarily use it for personal transactions.
Corppass, on the other hand, is designed for businesses and other entities. It serves as an authorisation system that allows these entities to manage digital service access for their employees, enabling them to perform corporate transactions with government agencies and some private sector services. Essentially, while Singpass is for personal use, Corppass is for corporate use.
